I have been rewatching parts of NatsuNiji because I miss J being in a solo work (more than 2 years and counting) and also because this morning there were some caps from Hana Yori Dango Final (the scene at the beach in the island -where he appears as the most beautiful creature on Earth- and the wedding -that amazing kiss-) around twitter and that probably triggered the need to see J in something romantic.

NatsuNiji was the first Matsujun's drama I saw in real time, no in Japan but as it was airing I was following it and watching. I had already watched several J dramas by then which I consider/ed fav of mine, but I NatsuNiji is very special to me and I am not sure I can't explain all the reasons.

I think it is an underrated drama. I love Taiga so much. He is such a lovely character and Jun kun does such an amazing job with it!!! He also looks incredibly beautiful!

Today I recalled too how much I loved the opening credits. It seems like I haven't seen cool opening credits lately (truth is that I haven't been watching dramas, so that may be it).

Considering what I recall from the love scenes in Chocolatier, the super amazingly perfect kiss at the end of Hanadan Final and the awesome kisses/couple scenes in NatsuNiji (and Kimi wa petto, etc) make me firm in the idea that Matsujun is perfect for romance dramas. He does an amazing job in all of them... you believe his character is in love... you can see the struggle if there is one... and the most important thing, when he gets together with the girl/woman you believe his happiness, you can see in his face that he is the happiest man alive and that he will make her feel beloved and cherished. At least I see it this way.

In NatsuNiji episode 8, when they are at the top of the building and Shiori finally admits she likes him... Taiga doesn't know what to do with himself and when she doesn't want to hug and they end holding fingers you still can see it there, the love!! and when Taiga kisses her, first on the lips and later on the forehead you can see the tenderness... and how he hugs her... I just melt watching it.

I remember myself asking for him to do something different from a romance and I am happy he did Lucky Seven and such, but at the end of the day, I think I love Matsujun the most at what he excels at (apart from producing awesome Arashi concerts) and that is doing a romantic drama/movie.

I remember also how much I cried watching Hidamari no Kanojo. Such cute movie. Such cute character Matsujun created...

I usually have a problem watching romantic jdramas because the kisses scenes are such a disappointment (if there is any!)... and I do consider Kimutaku another one that does amazing kisses on screen (if you don't believe me check 2046 movie to start with), but if I had to choose one jdrama kiss to be the number one of my jdrama/jmovie kisses that would be Hanadan Final wedding kiss... The way he holds Makino, the way he kisses her, that hand holding her face, his radiant smile while looking at her with adoration and happiness... It clicks every button for me!!! (and have in mind that Hanadan Final is not my fav in the saga, I prefer series 1).

Having that in mind... If the rumor of him having a drama on TBS in spring is true, a part of me wants it to be a romance, a nice one with a nice actress (I still have my doubts about Ohno's just announced heroine). However, having in mind that Ohno has a romance, I doubt J will have one if the rumor is true. If a romance can't be, I hope he does a part he really really wants to do.

Whatever he decides to do he still is my king of romance.

because again, I saw it raw and I must confess that I got a bit less out of the conversations... but OMG! is this drama chilling or what?

Disjointed thoughts below (sorry about that)... some spoilers maybe but not really that much...

Yoshimoto is such a sinister character... You can even say he is evil, but you can't be sure because when he is all smiles or when he explains things as they are the most usual thing to say, you are prone to believe him... Those comparing Yoshimoto and Naruse may be right...

Anyway, I must confess that what it's taking me the hardest is watching how the younger kid suffers because of Yoshimoto's plottings... That passive-aggressiveness is plain cruel... which makes me even more worried about the little kid... Because we don't know why Yoshimoto keeps applying a policy of carrot and stick (found this saying trying to find the English version to one we got in Spain and that goes perfectly in this case) with him all the time. It is hard to admit that the birthday party thing has some ulterior teaching apart from making him realize that he can't trust his classmates once again and that he is alone! And if there was no teaching behind and just plain use of such a date to get his parents to confront each other... As I say: cruel!

The worst part of that is that at the end he is all 'I'm your buddy' but the roughness in Yoshimoto's treatment of the kid is just scary (kudos to Sho for his great job again!) Doesn't also look like he wants to get the kid on his side, whatever that means? *confused*

And, of course, at this point we don't know what Yoshimoto's whole plan is... we don't know if there is one to begin with... We don't know if he is just some crazy guy with a pathological need to destroy families (while he offers himself to save them) because that is what happened to him or something. Because we do know or can guess that he had some awful events in his past but still too mysterious... It's good, though... the pacing of this drama is really really good!!

I can't leave out of this post his dealings with Shinichi... It's a bit of a mastermind games, isn't it? Shinichi cleverness against Yoshimoto's savvy-ness... I wonder what big trap Yoshimoto has in mind for the older kid... Again, scary! I got the impression that the lady saying she was the Yoshimoto brothers' mom is not that and was hired by Yoshimoto... Is that even his real name? I wonder...

The beginning of the episode is so creepy! Sho singing that song and driving (at night!) the kid somewhere... I wouldn't have got in that car, seriously!

And the video for the birthday kid with the pieces of phone conversation included... Okay it made the mother to just leave out all she had inside but afterwards... Don't they wonder about the video itself? Wouldn't they assumed it was their oldest son's doings? Don't they wonder who is responsible of that? I know it's a drama, but I keep thinking about it (I know it a Japanese drama not a US/UK show... :P my bad)

And the very last part? the webside Shinichi finds? I wonder if it's a real thing, which is again, really scary, or if it's part of Yoshimoto's plan to ruin/teach the kid...

If it's the first option... the 'watashi no kazoku wa Yoshimoto Koya ni korosareta' (my family was killed by Yoshimoto...' doesn't give you a shiver down your spine? :S

Maybe I am the only one because I tend to make weird connections but doesn't Yoshimoto look to you like a quite derailed Mary Poppins? :S

PS I am disappointed with the ratings... I am trying to stop myself being bothered by the fact... >.

Arghhh too hot for my eyes: Jun is seating next to Takuya and both commenting, since the Perfume girls mentioned Arashi and their dancing of Chocolate Disco... All of the SMAP and Arashi were moving their shoulders like in that song XD Jun was smiling so widely with that leather black jacket and clothes ♥‿♥

I am a mess explaining...

The order of going down the stairs: SMAP/ARASHI/Perfume/AKB48... so as the AKB are so many, SMAP was at the right side of Tamori, followed by Arashi and the girls at the side of the girl MC...

When they played Perfurme VTR they put a tiny window where Aiba was for a sec like singing the song or at least smiling at it (KH quality I am watching, mind you!)
So Arashi is seated next to SMAP again: from left: Ohno, Sho, Aiba, Nino (or viceversa) and Jun, followed by Kimura and the rest of SMAP... Again Jun is looking so hot! and Kimura well... not short in the hotness department...

After the first song Perfume are singing Chocolate Disco... They are so cute, these girls!!!!! I think the people lucky enough to be there had so much fun!!!

Now SMAP is seated at front... Their VTR playing.

So now SMAP is talking and the AKB girls comment on it... If we are talking alliances here, AKB+SMAP and Perfume+Arashi, I like it that way XD

KH froze... :( :/

Back to Takuya and SMAP singing Battery...

Btw, I have seen some pics of the minisite and OMG weren't all cute!!! SMAP was laughing at something Nino said, and Jun next to the Perfume girls, one of them looking at him with awe... or similar XD

SMAP looks neat in those black/red suits, imo. Shingo rapping is not the same as Sho, but Shingo is hot when he does that...

I like Battery, I like Kimura solo part...

And right after Mistake! more dancing here, so I guess that Arashi will start with Calling if they have to sing both songs one after the other...

Kimura's part at the beginning of Mistake! SO. HOT.

I wish KH didn't cut the sound, I can't really appreciate the singing... Ohhh it's going to freeze any moment... :S

And Nakai's part is way better than I thought...

So AKB now, means Arashi closing the thing... It is going so fast, the show! :S

I missed why Goro was sitting with the AKB girls, but while the girls got on stand by, Nakai asked Ohno something and he said 'no, something' and Nakai rushed for him like in Utaban times!!!! <3<3<3<3<3 Priceless!!!! Gimme more moments like that!!!!

So they are having a bit of talk which brings to more AKB and SMAP and Perfume and SMAP interaction... Arashi at this point looks a bit tense, like I want to perform already and be done with it! XD

Arashi's top three:

Wild at heart it's 3 and they showed the micro stand kick and Jun laughed in the small window and he was commenting and laughing with some SMAP...

Now at the talk they are talking about the micro stand kick too... Jun looks so hot it hurts!

Nino with his short hair and KH crashed when SMAP and Arashi came back to their Utaban selves!!! ;__; and Shingo hugged Ohno with one arm... I thought Shingo was going to be silly and kiss Riida... Too bad my imagination got too excited there XD

CM break

Switched to twitter during the performance. Briefly: AMAZING!!! Jun flirting with the camera that much it hurt! Sho looking so hot with that hair! Nino also being all sexy... During Calling, Aiba looked so hot...

But those backdancers :S Anyway, both performance were so good!!! And there was a lot of Jun's close ups or it's my imagination!!! XD

KH froze close to the end of Calling so I missed things... and the sound was so awful that I couldn't really appreciate the songs... Need to watch it properly asap.

Just something quick... I've just listened (properly) to part of Arashi's theme for Aiba's drama!

It's a slow song, not what I had in mind for the drama and well, not sure it fits the drama yet, but the chorus is really nice and what I think it's the bridge is also good!

When will we know the title? (Will tomorrow be one of those days like some weeks ago? wasn't the previous pre-order on Friday too?)

However in the special they aired (afternoon in Japan), Aiba's drama looks really good. I dare to say that I probably will like it more than Ohno's due to the cast and Aiba's character... There were some hilarious moments and he was brilliant in them!!

The young actress looks nicer than Erika Toda, imo, and come one look at the three boys: Aiba, Okura and Fujiki Naohito, that is total win!

Such long subject line but it's the truth! I want to go to one of the just announced concerts for the new Arashi tour 'Beautiful World'. I plan going to Japan just for that (and at the same time see places). I have to plan too many things: flights, hotels... but as I see it all depends on one single thing: the concert tickets.

Seriously I have a headache just thinking about it.

July 24 Osaka; July 30 and 31 Sapporo; Sep. 2 and 3 Kokuritsu... Those are my options since January is too far away (but maybe I don't have other option than to consider January).

I'd LOVE to get tickets for Kokuritsu but which are the chances *pout* everybody wants to go to that one!

And not only that but Nippon no Arashi is being released on Jun 30! I'm neither a bank nor a money maker... But I do want that book so badly!! Besides all the profit goes for the victims or the earthquake so it's for a good cause...

Aarghhh!! I'm desperate. I'm a control freak so this is just too much just now. How am I going to go to sleep now! (it's almost 1 a. m.)

I've just checked and OMG! almost $10000! more than $13000! Isn't that amazing!! Read the number carefully... Yes, those are 4 zeros after the 1! a 5 figures number!

Do you know how much that is?! For me it's a lot of money! and we all put it together (thank you to the great organization of [livejournal.com profile] arashi_on's mods and everybody's participation).

I'm so proud of this fandom, of all the people who are part of it, of the boys for inspiring noble actions like this one just for the way they are!! ^^ I'm also happy and kind of proud myself for being part of it too...

Silly me, I have tears in my eyes.

Amazing, really! And it isn't finished yet...

I really hope this money helps (although is not the amount countries/famous people are donating) because it has been put together with love, care and selflessly.

I'm sure that if the boys (not only Arashi but the other JE bands) knew they will be proud too.

Seriously, I'm O.O! ♥ to all of you!

I just have a couple of things I want to say after all the things that are happening around my fav fandom lately.

I'm not the most versed in the JE fandom but I've been around since 2004 (not following Arashi but SMAP) and I know people who has been here since longer and probably they can tell better than me how things have changed... but well I'm offering my two cents (that probably some already know).

I remember when I came into the SMAP fandom one of the first things I learned was how Johnny's controlled everything. The open and updated fan sites featuring SMAP were very few and they were extremely paranoid about being closed by JE. They put all their might in being unnoticed and keeping their fansites like secrets. I remember a particular forum that was regularly updated...

At that time, there weren't practically sites about Kimura Takuya and when I found one that was truly worth it months later disappeared. There was just a couple of ways to get SMAPxSMAP episodes at that time, I even got copy of some via cds sent to me for a fellow fan...

All that was before I joined LJ, but after that you can see that there were just few comms for the earlier JE bands (SMAP, V6, Tokio, KinKi...) Now there are quite more and growing.

I'm saying all this because for me what we have in Arashi fandom is really PRECIOUS! Something that is easy to get used to because of the immediacy (due to new technologies, I know) and the excitement they produce in the fans. We all love them and it's normal we like to share that thing in common with fellow fans/friends.

We get everything so fast, there are so many nice people willing to share and work hard for free so the rest can enjoy the boys... That is all kind of wonderful!!

To keep it working there are only two sacred rules: follow the rules and keep this quiet. They are simply and easy to follow. What I don't understand is why people can't keep up with them.


They are clear and simple rules and they are not hard to follow... They are also etiquette and common sense: don't do to others what you wouldn't want be done at you, right?

Some new fans forget that and think that all is fair game... and they're wrong. They are so wrong that for don't thinking things twice, for streaming what shouldn't be streamed, for not asking firt, for not commenting, for not crediting... they are risking all this wonderful world.

The thing is that if we lose it for being careless, we won't get used to have NOTHING as easily as it was the other way around.

I've got used to have it all quite fast and it's total bliss, but I still recall those times when it was really hard for me to enjoy the boys I like. I keep that in mind all the time while being around in the fandom and I keep the rules because of that.

Please be careful all of you. Don't want to lose all this.

As usual I'm lacking the coherent words... I just say that the last episode has amazing moments that I've been trying to picture in my head the whole week!!! Finally they didn't disappoint me, since they are even better than I imagined...

I have to say that I've watched the last 13 minutes around three or four times already (and probably will do it again soon) because those scenes are the most beautiful and touching thing ever!

Ruth Wilson is amazing as she's been in the previous episodes... but as usual Toby was the best thing! I love the vulnerability and humanity he gives to Rochester at the end... How his feelings are more in surface than before and how damaged he thinks he is to keep Jane with him...

I love the interaction between them at the end because it is the same they had always had... I've only seen the same scene in the Timothy Dalton and Zelah Clarke version, and although the teasing and the relationship between them is kept as it should be, my favorite is the one between Toby and Ruth... so touching, so emotive... I was so much as crying like a baby...

I can't really wait for February to come! I need this DVD now!!!

Anyway as the only think I'll manage is to repeat myself and say again how wonderful the last part is... I think I'll stick with my method: picspam of my favorite moments.

I had tickets to watch Alatriste yesterday but reading [livejournal.com profile] syliasyliasylia's opinion about it (HERE) the night before kind of scared me of what I was going to find once seated in the theatre.

Well, I think I can say that I have better opinion of the movie that she has... that meaning, I liked it more than I thought I would, so in some way I have to thank her because I was waiting for the worst and it wasn't that bad at all. As a whole, I liked the movie. There were parts, characters and moments I really liked, there were others that I liked less or simply think that the movie would have been better without them... but well, I like to think that if the author, Arturo Pérez-Reverte, hadn't liked the final result wouldn't have been in the promotion of the movie and all, so...

However, I do have something to say, and that is that Viggo is very good as Alatriste. My friends kept complaining about his accent and his 's's when he talked but I think he did a good job with the pronunciation and I really feel like he gave flesh and bones to Alatriste 'the character'.

That said, I also have to admit that my favorite character due to the perfect characterization and because he is one of the greatest actors in Spanish cinema goes to the actor playing Quevedo, Juan Echanove, he is simply superb. Hope somebody else notices him in the movie and also in the upcoming Manolete, where he also has a part.

I had tickets to watch Alatriste yesterday but reading [livejournal.com profile] syliasyliasylia's opinion about it (HERE) the night before kind of scared me of what I was going to find once seated in the theatre.

Well, I think I can say that I have better opinion of the movie that she has... that meaning, I liked it more than I thought I would, so in some way I have to thank her because I was waiting for the worst and it wasn't that bad at all. As a whole, I liked the movie. There were parts, characters and moments I really liked, there were others that I liked less or simply think that the movie would have been better without them... but well, I like to think that if the author, Arturo Pérez-Reverte, hadn't liked the final result wouldn't have been in the promotion of the movie and all, so...

I mentioned before how much I love 'The Devil Wears Prada' by Lauren Weisberger. I know it's one of those Bridget Jones kind of books but I really enjoyed reading it. In fact, I first knew about its existence while I was in my honeymoon in Australia. little story of where/how I found out about the book )

When I knew that the book was going to be made into a movie I got all excited about it. I was glad that Meryl Streep was going to play Miranda Priesley and Anne Hathaway was playing Andrea. In my head, both of them were good options I could adapt to my mental images of both characters.

I had to watch the movie as soon as I could and I finished watching it yesterday, although the quality of the copy wasn't very good.

Anyway, now that I've seen it I have mixed thoughts about it. I really think I stick with the book better than with the movie. It's one of those situations where the movie didn't really disappoint me but I think the book is way better: more witty, more funny, more... don't know, complete?

This doesn't mean the adaptation is bad. I mean, I don't think there could have been any other way to make the book into a movie, and in general the adaptation is good, believe me, it's just that isn't enough for me.

As I say, the cast is good. I have to say that my favorite character is Nigel, the one played by Stanley Tucci, who is a god! in acting. He is fabulous!!! I also enjoy Emily Blunt as Emily, Miranda's first secretary. She is exactly as I imagined her! She is very good! And of course, Simon Baker, that only with appearing twice or three times in the movie... makes you sign deeply wishing you were Anne Hathaway.

Anne Hathaway, btw, is beautiful during the whole movie! I don't think there is moment where she looks bad, even at the beginning! However, the actors playing her friends and boyfriend, I didn't like any of them! I mean it! Any!

The story is well narrated, the movie isn't too long and it's well paced, but it's just that the most funny moments or the situations where you really see what Andrea is going through in the book and how she acts later isn't very well portrayed in the movie. I know it's normal... because as in the Harry Potter movies, you just can't put all there! but I missed things! even when they tried to make their best to include some of them played one after another with cute music in the background...

Anyway, just the last bit: the soundtrack is pretty good, including Madonna's Vogue and a Seal's Crazy version by Alanis Morissette that I really love!

As I discovered via [livejournal.com profile] koalathebear's LJ or [livejournal.com profile] thelana's, can't remember, that season 2 of Prison Break starts on August 21, yesterday I've decided to watch the rest of season 1.

OMG!! OMG!! Those who told me that episode 116 supposed a changed in things, how right they were!!! That episode explains so much about everybody! especially Sara!

I'm going to be brief because [livejournal.com profile] koalathebear I'm sure has commented in a more detailed way and has a fresher idea of the season as a whole because she saw it all together. Anyway, just in case, my previous post about the first half of the season is here. However, just in case more under here )

I had a family lunch today so I couldn't finish these group of icons earlier. I think all of them are from caps from episode 1.19 'The Key' (one of my favorites). I imagine there are plenty out there with Michael and Sara, but well, couldn't help it really ;)

I was thinking about it and there are times when I think I'm definitely going against the tide around here (in LJ I mean). Although sometimes I may post about the same things than others, that isn't the general rule.

Examples? Let's see... I don't talk about Doctor Who anymore, I started but I got kind of overflowed by so many posts, so many info... I think I've talked about BSG like once or twice, just once about Prison Break... and the rest of the common shows I don't watch them like Supernatural or Veronica Mars. And, right now I'm starting to talk about Queer as Folk that ended last year!

I know I'm comparing myself with those in my friend list and I know everybody have different tastes and that is the great thing about it... but it's still curious to me...

I do know I post quite a bit about Cedric/Hermione from HP fandom and although it was a minoritary pairing, I think it has a quite number of followers today. I do talk about SMAP or Takuya Kimura and I know that I have in common with some others... but these posts aren't in the main stream either.

I've been posting about Bollywood and I do share this taste with some members of my flist, as well as British actors, for example...

But some other times I'll talk about series or actors I don't think others may be interested or even know who they are... but that is an interesting thing, isn't it? Because an aspect I really like about LJ is that reading other's posts you get to discover new things and this is kind of exciting ;)

Icons? Although I post icons related to new things, I mean not long ago I posted about PotC 2, I don't always succeed to post just what people are looking for or want to use right in that moment (i.e. Marie Antoniette icons... )

All this doesn't mean a thing, actually, because I decide to post about those things that interest me right in that moment and I don't care about comments too much (I would be lying, everybody would be kind of lying if they say they don't care a thing about comments)...

But I am curious to know if at the end LJ users tend more to fit their posts to their audience (flists, what people may want to read about) or do as I usually do, and post whatever is in their minds... or what attract them right in that moment??

I also wonder... is it bad if you bend your tastes to fit your audience (because let's face it, is not easy to forget the entries will be read and everything, and everybody likes to feel liked)... Is LJ the right place for that? Isn't supposed that being a journal you talk about 'what you want' 'what you feel' 'what you want to talk about' with independence of who is reading (thinking than the 'medieval' diaries where just for the user to read and write... yes, you know, those little books where people wrote their stuff ;)

I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one coming with this questions or musings... I'm sure they're pretty old and I'm not at all original... but as I tend (I can't say always though) to write whatever I feel like, so... here it goes ;)
