First of all... after reading [livejournal.com profile] thynk2much's last post, I got one of those moments where I could scream of desperation because I don't live in London :S

It seems the BAFTAS has an special about Bollywood title 'BAFTA goes Bollywood'. Here you have the program, in case you want to check it out...

The main attraction to me is the fact that they'll interview Aamir Khan, who'll be there!!, but apart from that, they'll also talk with Preity Zinta they'll show Dil Chahta Hai, Veer-Zaara and Rang De Basanti in a theatre, in big screen!!!(among others)... and also, something that will make [livejournal.com profile] dangermousie happy: they'll also interview Shah Rukh Khan.

*sigh*

And now a bit of World Cup now that the final is close... and that is that I'm sorry for Portugal. I can't really explain why but I really wanted Portugal to win. I wanted them to reach the final... Maybe it has to be with the fact that between Zidane and Figo, I choose Figo... can't really explain (besides he reminds me a bit of Jeremy Northam, now that I give it a bit of thought) Anyway, poor them!

This scene brought tears to my eyes... they are friends, the were together in Real Madrid... that moment has been so touching... they gave each other their shirts (all sweat, that is another issue) and hugged twice!

btw, I think the pic is from Reuters, just in case.

Things going on lately...

* Last Friday I watched my first two episodes of Queer as Folk, US version, and I think I'm hooked... Gale Harold is so hot as Brian Kinney... *sigh* I found, among others this great site, Gale Online, with lots of info and pics!!

* These last days (since Sunday, actually) I haven't been around LJ as much as I usually am because I've been abducted by a book I'm reading... First of all I have to say that I haven't been reading a lot this year (apart from books about Japanese and Chinese, and fics :S) but during summer I usually read more... I'm reading some books at the same time but the one I got on Sunday, is just an easy read that asks to be finished as soon as possible... It's a romantic novel by Sue-Ellen Welfonder... Bride of the Beast, that actually is a second part of a series (yes, I'm weird that way, I don't mind) of stories about a Scottish clan... Anyway, apart from the cliches typical in the romantic novels, I'm enjoying it quite a bit... I can be so silly... *hi hi* more about the book and romantic novels in general )

*Last Monday, Fuji TV aired Takuya Kimura's Hero SP!! I can't wait to watch it... but I haven't so far so I don't know how it was, but I'm sure it was great since Hero was such a great dorama.

*Summer sales started here and I got totally crazy and bought some clothes and shoes (I'm really am considering to make a post about shoes-shopping addiction ;)) My favorite adquisitions )

*Today, yesterday, I read this great adult fic, Yellow Plastic by [livejournal.com profile] minisinoo featuring Cedric and Hermione as adults. She writes them so nicely, so real... that I enjoyed it a lot!

*Okay, a bit of World Cup thoughts... Today Italy made it to the final. I told mr. ginger a week ago or more than it would be cool to have an European final and we'll get one. I haven't watched the match, Germany-Italy, just bits... but a friend told me that Italy played better than Germany. Originally I wanted a Germany-Portugal in the final... but let's see if I get an Italy-Portugal instead... It would be cool anyway ;)

*Talking about Portugal. Last week I was watching tv late at night when I caught this program about Spanish culture issues, called (translated) Culture with Ñ. I was nicely surprised to see that the guest in that program was Joaquim de Almeida, my favorite Portuguese actor! But what really astonished me was the fact that he admitted he talked 6 languages and acted and worked with 5 of them... So guessing and checking movies, I think he meant he has filmed or worked in movies using English, French, Italian, Spanish, and, of course, Portuguese, since he admitted that the one he didn't master was German, although he studied in a German school as a child. Simply amazing! Now I'm admire him more than before!

in case you wonder, he looked like this in the interview )

*And... sadly, the last thing: this news about North Korea, worries me :/

In someway I was ready for this... It's too many years watching Spain play... Anyway, I'm not going to say that everything was against us and all that but I think it's fair to say that not everything was our fault...

(Btw, I'm sorry for [livejournal.com profile] koalathebear, whose team at her office for the World Cup was Spain... Lady, seriously, I'm sorry).

We started the match pretty well with that first goal, but for the rest, I think they didn't play as good as they did against Ukraine or Tunisia... I think the French knew what they were doing better than we did and experience was a good thing for them...

The referee was blind at some points or what! I'm not saying it's all his fault but honestly, Pujol's yellow wasn't at all!

Raul was nowhere to be found in the first part... I don't even know why Aragones decided that he should play from the beginning... I especially like Joaquin but he wasn't there for enough time to do anything... *sigh* (btw, Henry was also nowhere to be found, to be honest).

We didn't reach the French area as we should and neither did they but the few times they needed to reach us they did (although it wasn't in a very stylish way) and we didn't.

Spain's players were younger, as I said, and maybe that wasn't as good as having France's experience.

The only good thing I take from this match is that Zidane will have a better end of his professional career than I thought he'd have, and he deserves it after two years of nothing in the Real Madrid... He sounded so down when he announced the end of his career and so bitter than Real Madrid has been so bad, especially this year, that I'm just happy for him.

However, as I've said... this usually happens to us... people get too excited just to get disappointed... it may be something typical Spanish ;)

PS I can't be sure, but probably this will be my last World Cup post... you understand, right? ;)

I'm just going to ask in case somebody knows what may happen with it. My mini iPod is acting a bit weird lately... and I honestly can say that I didn't read the whole booklet that came with it but I read most of it...

The thing is that in the last weeks the battery is playing with me. I use the mini iPod almost everyday and I know I exhaust the battery pretty quick (quicker than before anyway when I only used it to go to Madrid city center and class and that was all)...

The other day the battery indicator showed that it was around half the battery but when I went to listen music the 'battery empty' text appeared and the iPod turn off.

And the last couple of times I've tried to charge it... although I keep the iPod connected to the computer like more than 12 hours, it keep showing like is charging and I don't seem to get the image of the battery fully charge :(

So my questions are:

Is it possible that the battery (as in mobile phones) doesn't last as much as it lasted at the beginning due to the extensive use I give to the thing?

It something in the machine that will make me reset it and install all again??

Help?!

****

In other news, it seems that some cinemas here in Madrid are trying to boicot Disney (in my honest opinion they're playing with fire)... because of Disney's expensive price in the movies they distribute... so, last week Scary Movie 4 wasn't released in all the theatres that should be showing it and, ... here comes what worries me... the released of Pirates of the Caribbean 2 is also in danger and won't make it to all the theatres it should go (and I'm crossing my fingers that doesn't mean I won't get it in O.V.)

****

Today is the day... Spain-France, or France-Spain, depending on who is saying it ;) I'm a bit bothered with the match because I really want Spain to win, but knowing them as we all do, it's possible they mess up and end losing... which will be terribly disappointing!!!

They are able to play fantastically, they are younger than the French and they have been playing better than them... but don't know, I have this weird feeling in my stomach (and no, is not something I ate)... We'll see...

However it also annoys me our kind of 'bad luck'. Look Italy, they have the easy matches... (sorry for the Australian fans, but it's kind of true) and now they'll face Ukraine. And, this team, who was going to tell them that after losing 4-0 against us, they will be still in the World Cup after winning against Switzerland.

Meanwhile, the rest of matches will be like finals themselves: Argentina-Germany or England-Portugal... and if Spain passes: Spain-Brazil... arggg!! That is bad luck for us, honestly...

****

I'm a bit concerned about little things here and there... nothing of importance but I'm really considering creating a poll... anything I should have in mind (since it will be my first one)?

Just came back from watching Spain-Tunisia at one of our friend's house. As I mentioned I didn't watch the first match due to my exam but today I did watch it and OMG!!! That was suffering was they got us used to! But also great playing!!!!

They've played all the time in Tunisia's area trying to get a goal (since Tunisia got a goal in the first minutes in a complete mess of players in Spain's area)... But after most of the game waiting for the goals finally Raul started the first one which was followed by another two!!! We pass to the next round!!! I can't believe it!!

And they're playing kind of good game (quite different from what they did lately) so it was great! A bit too much suffering in some moments but a great game!!! Around the place we were there were firecrackers and people shouting and cheering with every goal!!! Kind of nice to live the spirit of the World Cup. Hope it lasts for us!

I've finished my exams!!! Yay for me!!

My Japanese exam is done, and I'm pretty happy with it comparing it with the Chinese one...

Spain has won!! 4-0!!! Amazing, considering I wasn't sure about what they were going to do!!!

Edited: I've just seen the goals and Torres' was just fantastic!!

More LJ time for me! Now I can watch my Bollywood movies and play with Photoshop! ;)
