Just watched Homeland, is anybody else out there (flist or not) watching it??? Damian Lewis for me is a sure thing, meaning that whatever he does I like, and this is not exception. Besides he is really good at law enforcement/army roles but this one... it's so complicated and you just can't be sure... It's a good step forward for him after Life.

I really enjoyed the first episode and the end left me like O~O... So sad, so terrible... but Damian and the rest of the cast is amazing, Claire Danes is really good there... and the guy who helps her (not Mandy Patinkin) is the one from Due South, right?

I just hope they allow it to develop because it's really complicated the plot... and scary. However, I wonder... series like this, you can't make it super long because well it may get boring and get loose ends and people losing interest... I just hope they do it right with it because it has the potential...

Yeah, just that... sorry.

Several things:

- Damian Lewis got his pilot Live picked up for a whole season next year. How cool is to have him weekly on tv... hmmm... I can't wait. Here you have a bit info The link was posted at Damian's comm here in LJ. I'm too lazy right now to find the name *sorry*

And, just yesterday [livejournal.com profile] netnessie posted a great collection of pics of Damian HERE.

I remember how much I loved him in Band of Brothers and after that in Shakespeare Retold ep Much ado about nothing, that I can't help myself but squeeing big time at the news of watching him in a series. (I still have The Forsythe Saga waiting to be seen *sigh*).

- I want to ask a question to all of you iPod owners... I wonder if I'm the only one who has an iPod that fooled me with the battery indicator... It was half green when I switched it on and the next second I got the message that the battery was empty. It didn't go to red (the indicator) in any moment!!

- And could somebody explain me why (or how started) there are people using other people's faces to feature Harry Potter characters in icons and other artwork. I don't mean a character that doesn't exist in the movies, that I do understand, I mean, no using any of the actors from the movies :S I think I missed when that started or/and the reason.

ADDED:
- Well it seems Jack Davenport will be also in a series picked up. Just knew about it. More info HERE.

* Today is Colin Firth's Birthday, so although a bit late, Happy Birthday, Mr. Firth (I was going to play with the Mr. Darcy thing, but I think that annoys him, so...)

When I checked his page at IMDb H E R E I was pretty surprised to see how many projects he is taking part in. One of them reminded me that I'm very easy when we're talking about getting excited about a movie! I recall I mentioned it before. I'm talking about his movie The Last Legion, starring Ben Kingsley, Colin, Aishwarya Rai, Kevin McKidd, John Hannah, Iain Glenn, among others.

After checking the info and the stills about it at Firth.com, (that you can see/read H E R E) it really got my attention. The story is settled in the Roman Empire in the 5th Century when Romulus Augustus, is the appointed emperor. He's a 12 years old boy who needs protection from the Barbarian. Just for curiosity I want to see how Colin gives body and voice to the boy's protector and how he deals with the apparition and help of the mysteryous Mia (Aishwarya).

My interest reappeared when I found some Colin icons in some LJ where he was dressed like a Roman and I had to find the origin of it. Finally I found it. The icons are by [livejournal.com profile] pw_graphics, and the post where you can see those icons are H E R E.

The only thing that I'm not sure about the movie is the boy that plays Romulus Augustus... because is that is the same boy that has starred with Colin in another two movies: Nanny McPhee and Love Actually... and it's like the third time that they work together in a short period of time, and I don't know, it's a bit weird... Anyway, the movie is supposed to be released at the beginning of 2007, so well, just some months to wait...

* Also, congratulations to Damian Lewis who became a dad on Sept. 8th!

* Brontëana in its last information offers a link to the first trailer for Toby Stephens' Jane Eyre that is said will aired on Sept. 24th.

* I watched my first QI program (hosted by Stephen Fry) and I love it!!! They're great and so funny!! Although I had to put all my attention in their answers and conversations because sometimes they go too fast!! But I really love it! Btw, I also found my new (cool) Stephen Fry icon!

by [livejournal.com profile] inertia666 I'm so happy with it! It's so funny that I love it!

I still haven't check the link to the QI page at the BBC I give above, but looks like it has pretty cool clips and stuff.

* I started working in some icons, but didn't have time to make too much today, so I'll keep on with them during this week... I really want to post icons...

* ADDED--> I've just found out because it was posted at [livejournal.com profile] spooky_doings that in YouTube you can see the trailer for Spooks series 5. To say that Rupert Penry-Jones looks hot, isn't enough!! Go watch it H E R E.

I've been meaning to recommend a couple of pics sites I found (in some LJ community or by my own) which I think it may interest people since have pics of lovely British actors or/and upcoming series.

First of all, photographer Jude Edginton, has in his website a series of portraits of famous people, including some British actors like: Damian Lewis, sir Ian McKellen, James Purefoy (dressed in white!) or Richard Armitage (beautiful pic!) and Bill Nighy, among others.

I prefer to link directly to the site H E R E and not pick the pics and post them here (I know it sounds weird but it's his job and I feel bad if I post them posting the pics).

I know that at least [livejournal.com profile] koalathebear likes James D'Arcy, but I'm not sure if somebody else in my flist likes him. I'm not fan of him, but yesterday, surfing [livejournal.com profile] ibedesign I found a post with, if I haven't read incorrectly, 115 HQ pics of him. I think you have to join the community to see them but just in case H E R E is the direct link. Some of the pics are with other British actors/actresses, a couple with James Purefoy *g*

Also, [livejournal.com profile] koalathebear made a The Last of the Mohicans pic spam that reminded me of a beautiful fanvid I found ages ago. It's a North and South fanvid (North & South, Richard Armitage version!) using the main theme for The Last of the Mohicans and featuring Thornton. The creator of the fanvid, Cleobulle, received an award for the video, so if you haven't watched it before you should: H E R E is the link to her videos. I also recommend another one of hers with the music from LOTR: The Two Towers trailer featuring Margaret and Thornton (you can find it in that same link. It also received an award).

Looking for the videos I found this website: Foolish Passion - A North & South fansite, where you can find a lot of info and stuff about North and South including more fanvids and a pretty complete links section. Check out some of the fanvids there because some of them are quite nice.

I've especially enjoyed one by Remontant, using Music from the Codex Calixtinus here, or another one by Elvira, titled Lonely using a Jerry Goldsmith's piece, here. I don't know why but the montage she's made with just Thornton moments and dialogue plus the music... really got me ;)

I'm very curious about one by Neelma using Deliver Me by Sarah Brightman, but haven't had the chance to download it yet :S

This is one of the times I would love to live in London. I know a lot of people have been talking about Pirates of the Caribbean 2 premiere and the movie (sadly, we can't see it here until August :/)... but I've been busy, and I didn't check pics or anything til this morning.... But what pics!!! That was a kind of OBASC reunion to me!!!

PIC SPAM: Jack Davenport, Tom Hollander, Damian Lewis and James Purefoy!!! A total fest! )

I'm very late posting, but today here is Father's Day, so Happy Father's Day!!!

I had lunch at my parents to celebrate, although the present for my dad will arrive late since my sister and I have to look for a new Gameboy (my dad loves to play Tetris) that we both think he will like.

It was curious that just today I learned that Damian Lewis is going to be a father... so next year he will be the one to be congratulated in Father's Day *he he* (via [livejournal.com profile] damianlewisfans)

Also, the sad note, is that I also learned through an Easy Company Yahoo group I belong to, that Major Winters (the man Damian Lewis incarnated in Band of Brothers) is having some health issues. That makes me incredibly sad because I think he is a very coragious man, a kind of man that doesn't exist anymore. I really admire him and I would love he got the Congressional Medal of Honor before he's gone :S (Anyway, to learn more about him if you are curious, this is one of the sites about him.

Btw, just to say that I'm kind of obsessed with Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (the movie and the audiobook read by Stephen Fry)!!! arggg!

I have finally watched (completely) this version and I enjoyed it so much, that now I can't decide which version I prefer, the Kenneth Branagh's version or this one. In fact, they are different and both are good, but this one has things that make me very fond of it... Besides, it's also true that it has been ages since I saw the Kenneth's one.
