please, sing that song...

Okay, more music for those who asked for it (well, they didn't actually ask for it but showed some interest about it, so for them, here comes more).

Jeremy Northam's other songs in Gosford Park:

I can give you the starlight
What a Duke should be
Why isn't it you?
The Land of Might-Have-Been

And as I was at it, I remember I told [livejournal.com profile] koalathebear about a song I like about 'rain'. So here it, for you, lady.

I'm only happy when it rains by Garbage the lyrics )

And to finish the post a couple of songs that appear in Queer as Folk, because apart from having great characters, the series has the best soundtrack ever! A lot of disco music, that I love...

Two examples:

Relight My Fire by Take That (My sister and I simply love to sing this song ;P) its lyrics )

Crying at the Discoteque by Alcazar I love the song since the first time I listened to it! and the lyrics )

All are sendspace links. If they stop working let me know ;)

those crazy twenties...

I think I mentioned how much I love Queer as Folk last episode of season 1. In that one Brian is finally 30 and has an unusual way to celebrate something that really kills him... So he buys a lovely silk scarf and has a private party for himself at his loft.

The first time I watched it I fell in love with the music playing during that scene and luckily I've found it.

I think I haven't said that I love 20s, 30s and 40s music... The kind of music I've heard in movies like Memphis Belle, Swing Kids, The English Patient, etc...

Well, the song I mention is (for what I've read) from the twenties but in a curious and satisfactory mix. The title is Happy Feet and it's by Jack Hylton & His Orchestra (didn't know them, :S , what makes me feel a bit ashamed, probably I should). I would love to read what some other people think about it, so here it is if you want to give it a try.

And, now that I'm talking about this kind of music and songs, I remember that not long time ago [livejournal.com profile] koalathebear talked about Jeremy Northam in some post and in my head Jeremy Northam + music from the 20s = Gosford Park, where he plays Ivor Novello.

In that movie Jeremy Northam sings, quite nicely several Ivor Novello's songs, my favorite being 'And Her Mother Came Too'. It's one of those funny and witty songs and I simply adore it, apart from enjoying singing along every time I listen to it. You can check the song (and Jeremy's singing) here.

Several things, most of them British ;)

First of all, yesterday, that I didn't post, was Gary Oldman's Birthday! How cool is that David Thewlis and Gary Oldman have birthdays one just one day after the other!! Yay! [livejournal.com profile] imbeiaiel has posted this lovely pic of them together but just the other day I found another one that I probably like even more: This one! I have an urge to make Gary Oldman icons right now!

And this is especially for [livejournal.com profile] whitelilacs07 who asked for Tom Hollander in Gosford Park caps. Here they are. Enjoy them! (if anybody else wants them, you can also get them but they are only Tom Hollander images!) (btw, I just made the Richard E. Grant icon to use in this post! I love his character in the movie. In fact there are a lot of characters I like from that movie: Stephen Fry's, Jeremy Northam's, Clive Owen's, Alan Bates'...)

Yesterday, I watched Wallace and Gromit in the Curse of the Were-Rabbit and I simply love it!! Just the previous nights I had also watched all the short films (I had only watched one before that a channel aired here, The Close Shave one). I love them all too!!! I may make icons soon... but I just wanted to say how much I love Gromit!! and from the movie I'm pretty fond of Hutch ;) and also the penguin thief from The Wrong Trousers... Now I have some Creature Comforts to watch!

Btw, a tv station here will air Criminal Minds!!! I was so happy when I saw the promo!!!
