Something wicked this way comes...
A bit of Harry Potter news... (don't read if you don't want to know a thing about book seven)!!
Yesterday after we came back from watching Spain's team debacle, mr. ginger checked the news online and pointed me to this news (sorry is in Spanish, but I do think there is an English version of it in Yahoo! News for what I've read)... where it says that JK Rowling could kill Harry in her next book.
All the info is from an interview she did with Channel 4, I think.
She says the following: 'A character will remain alive, but I have to say that two other will die, although at the beginning I hadn't though about killing them'...
She was asked about if those two characters were the most loved by fans and she answered: 'there is a price that has to be paid. We're dealing with truly evil here and they don't go after supporting characters, they go for the main ones'.
She refused (obviously) to give more information about those two characters she'll kill in the seventh book. 'I don't want to compromise myself and I don't want to receive more hate email or some other things'.
And she added, 'I wasn't never tempted to kill Harry before the end of book seventh, since from the beginning I thought about writing seven books'.
Okay...
First of all... I hate this kind of interviews, I mean, they take some surprise out of the book... I know I could just not read them... but come on, an interview with JK Rowlings and you expect people to skip it??
I don't think she should give such details because it's kind of cruel... Imagine, seven books to read at the end that Harry and Ron, or Harry and Hermione die... wtf! (sorry for the language)
And probably the thing that annoys me the most is this: '...two other will die, although at the beginning I hadn't though about killing them'. That is information she should have kept to herself!
There is still ages until we get to read the book and this kind of leaked info is just kind of cruel... *sigh*
In another news HP related too, Michael Gambon (Dumbledore)... The Leaky Cauldron has this info about Michael Gambon finding out about Dumbledore. He gave an interview to The Telegraph where he says:
<<"I die next year," he says. "I think I read it in the paper. It was such a shock. I thought, [expletive deleted]. I'm sure if she reads this article, she might think, 'Ah, poor bloke. I'll put him in the seventh book as a ghost.' If she would kindly just put me in there.">>
I imagine Michael Gambon saying this and I found it pretty cute, at least in my head... I pictured him talking the way he does in 'Wives and Daughters' when he talks to Molly or Roger and I couldn't help but wanting to hug the guy! ;)

I was visiting some sites recently(trying to figure out when the book is out) and I bumped into many sites saying different interpretations of the *prophecy* and what can happen in the last book... I hv a version of how it will probably end but will not spoil it for u.

Usually I do like to read spoilers, thoughts or theories. Probably what I don't like about what she said in the interview is that all is a big tease and that is kind of cruel to fans, having in mind that is more than a year what we have to wait!

AGAIN PPL WHO HV NOT READ BOOK 5 AND 6 YET... SKIP THIS COMMENT :P
The Prophecy:
'The one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord approaches. born to those who have thrice defied him, born as the seventh month dies . and the Dark Lord will mark him as his equal, but he will have power the Dark Lord knows not . and either must die at the hand of the other for neither can live while the other survives . the one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord will be born as the seventh month dies .'
This can refer to either Harry and Neville... According to the 2nd line it refers possibly to Harry coz of his scar, I think it actually refers to Neville, he was possibly in the womb of his mother when she was tortured by the dark lord(might explain why he is not so bright).
The other important thing is JKR hardly wastes her charecters... Amoung all the chars introduced in the first book Neville is one who has not done much in the stories. So possibly Neville and Voldemort will kill each other in the final instalment.(If Harry/Ron dies I would be so sorry for Ginny/Hermoine)
I think Snape killed the prof. on the profs instructions... Maybe to protect Malfoy, maybe every great wizard knows when his time is up. I also think Snape will repay Harry's dad's lifesaving debt by protecting Harry(possibly giving his life for him)
I expect Sirus to make a come back coz I could not buy his death at all... If she wanted him killed she would hv done it in a straight forward way(like Dumbeldore).
Anyway lot of theories and lots of questions? Guess only one person knows the answers to it and she aint telling us soon :P

I really think as you do that Snape killed Dumbledore because he told him to do so...
I also think that Sirius should be back because that kind of death was a 'no, no' in my book...
and what you say makes sense... I have always thought that Neville would have an important part later and still haven't come the time... He has helped here and there but nothing too spectacular...
if you're right, it will be pretty cool... but knowing JK Rowlings... who knows... It's hard to decide, if she wants to kill to main characters that would they be: Harry and Ron, Harry and Hermione, Hermione and Ron... I especially like Hermione, so I just hope she doesn't decide to kill her :S
Now we just have to wait *sigh*

Honestly I don't mind what she does if it's well written and it makes sense... I would be disappointed if she decides to kill characters just because she is getting used to it and knows that gives more tension and fame to every book... As you say, if it's in a realistic way, I won't have a problem, although, I'll miss the adventures!
