A question about LJ layouts

You see I've changed the layout again. I still love my Cedric/Hermione layout very much but I was trying to get something done and I ended with the one I currently have (Fanaa, I couldn't help it!). I like it quite a bit too but it wasn't what I had in mind.

I was wondering if any of you out there who has more experience than me in layouts, css and stuffs could help. I may want to change from the Components layout to another one. I have been taking a look to some LJs I kind of like for their layout and/or organization of things...

If you have a tutorial or know somebody how can help me with tips or something... I want to change and I want something like these (they are not the same, but so you see that I have options ;)):
Example 1, Example 2, Example 3, Example 4 and Example 5.

Mainly I still want a header but I also want a background that repeats itself and later on components or squares in another color and that stuff...

Hope somebody can help ;)

That is a gorgeous header! It takes me forever to tweak codes, I've been working on one I want for a few days now and it's still not perfect in Firefox. *sigh* So no help from me, but [livejournal.com profile] dooped has some great codes you can use to start off. Hee, I hope that helps. :)

That's exactly why I haven't done anything by myself either. [livejournal.com profile] everything_lj should have some tutorials now that I think about it.

Your layout is wonderful, the header and the colours. I am so sorry, I don't know much about LJ layouts myself, I am pretty lazy in this sense. One of the things I really find useful is colorblender website - http://www.colorblender.com/ , if you put one colour in it gives you combination of six matching colours..
