I haven't posted before because, honestly, I've been watching Las Vegas
season 1 the last two days. I couldn't stop until I finished it!
Besides, I haven't been very talkative... about anything that it isn't
Las Vegas.
It doesn't have a large fandom and there aren't enough fics or sites but I can't help it. I also found a new shipping to adore: Danny/Mary... I wasn't looking for another one, because most of them ended in nothing in canon and I'm not one that always focus in romantic stuff, believe me. I mean I have liked romantically involved or potencially romantic couples in other series, not many, but most of them were based in moments, words, but most of it in imagination and fics. These two (Danny and Mary) really have a common history -very touching and cute- and the series creators put there a lot of ingredients to make them 'the couple' and I fell like the weak shipper (with not current shipping to adore) that sometimes I am. I even got fic ideas (that probably will be translated into nothing, but I'm happy about it anyway lol!)
I'm sorry but I'm really tempted to talk more about them and about the episodes. There are great moments, touching scenes, funny quotes... I love the series so much right now!! It's been a while since I felt like this about a series (last time was for the West Wing, I think!) so although some people don't understand, I know some of you may. Please bear with me a bit longer :S
I also forgot to say that last Friday was like Christmas for me... I got all the things I had ordered online -some my boy b-day presents for me ;) (I got all but Las Vegas season 2). So you get an idea: Spooks series 2, Spooks series 3, Shakespeare Retold, a couple of Rupert Penry-Jones early movies, Flashman audiobooks (read by Rupert) and Las Vegas season 1. Also my dear friends
cypros and
lolita_san bought me a couple of great
b-day presents: A fantastic and really big book about Art in Far East
(China, Korea, Japan, Thailand...) and a gorgeous Leon Lai kind of
greatest hits special edition: 3 cds and 1 dvd. He really looks amazing
in the cover! (will scan the pics).
I also got Rollerball with James Caan because it was very cheap and also because I have always been curious about that movie and now that I see him in Las Vegas I even more ;)
I'm also thinking in creating art resources, bases and textures, mainly, because I had tons of fashion and decoration magazine I checked in my big cleaning a couple of weeks ago and I think somebody may find them useful... But I'm not totally sure that I'm able to make something nice with them.
About the Oscar nominations... I'm really happy for David Strathairn (I really love the man!) because he is nominated as best actor, also happy for Rachel Weisz for being in the supporting actress category. Also a Spaniard, Alberto Iglesias, is nominated in best original soundtrack category for The Constant Gardener. It's funny that in the best animated film category are: Howl's moving castle, Wallace and Gromit and the Corpse Bride... I think it's a good year for them (and no Disney or Pixar right?) that is new!
Now I hope you don't get me wrong, but it surprised me that Keira Knightley is nominated for Pride & Prejudice. I mean I haven't seen the movie and I will go to see it for sure because Tom Hollander and Matthew Macfadyen are there but I can't imagine her work there is so amazing as to win her the nomination. I really like her work in the movies I have seen her but I don't know... it's sounds weird to me: Judi Dench, Reese Witherspoon, Felicity Huffman and Charlize Theron are big opponents for her. Anyway, good luck to all of them!
