gifs over 512kb do not work as images on tumblr sadly..any gifs bigger than that only work if you upload them on a text post - as you might have found out. :p

Didn't know the exact size that was the limits for them to no-work ;) So thank you! I've already started posting them as text posts... because they aren't huge but all of them are bigger than 512 kbs ;)

It was frustrating because I uploaded and reuploaded the pic several times from different places as well and nothing, until I looked for that problem in google-known-it-all and voila, there it was ;) and karasu_0 confirmed it.

I was also wondering about the gifs and actually already figured aout that it should work in a text post, but for some reason I only get grey boxes instead of the pics on my dash... tumblr is complicated XDD

what is tumblr for?

I don't know everything about it because I'm still learning things around there, but I'm going to use it to post pics mainly.

I wasn't going to but some of my gifs have ended there and I prefer being there and post them there so I can track them down a bit better (the naive girl in me thinks that I can lol!)

In fact it looks like another blogging system but with several options of posting (quotes, pics, texts, video...) It may be not as quick a posting in twitter but not as slow as other systems...
