In fact I watched this movie a couple of weeks ago but never got the chance of reviewing it or post a pic spam...
A couple of things attract me to give it a go: Jang Hyuk and THIS movie poster. I find it very beautiful.
Jang Hyuk looks very 'beautiful' too during the whole movie:

... and speaks English most of the time!
Tae Kwon's dream is attending a dance audition and participate in a dancing competition since his mother took him to watch one as a kid. However, his father, a shoemaker, thinks he should work in a factory and Tae does as he says. One day when Tae has saved enough money, he makes the decision of quitting his job and going to Singapore where he may find a place in a dance academy. His father is against it but Tae goes anyway.
He finds a job and a house and attends the trials to get into the academy which is run by a beautiful dancer, Emi. She used to take part in dancing contests but an ankle injury finished her career. Secretly she wishes she could find a dancing partner and the strenght to participate in one again.
Emi sees something in Tae that tells her that he may be the one. However, her boyfriend, Cheng, martial arts teacher, doesn't want to hear anything about she competing again. He's also jealous of Tae spending time with her.
As Emi's mind is set in coming back to her dancing competitor career, Cheng warns Tae to go away but Tae can't get himself to abandon his dream, so he makes a deal with Cheng: they'll fight and if he loses he'll leave, if Cheng loses, Tae stays...
Don't want to tell you everything, so you get the little need to watch it, although I'm pretty sure you'll guess what happens ;)
Now the pics:

Tae talks to his father about going to Singapore for the dancing lessons. His father doesn't like the idea and tries to change Tae's mind.

He leaves sad that his father is angry with him.

When he reaches Singapore he feels free and happy for taking the first step to reach his dream.

He passes the trials and is chosen to receive dancing lesson from Emi.

As Emi teaches him, she stars feeling and wishing she has to be back to a world she loves: dancing contests.

Tae and Emi get closer while dancing. Emi's boyfriend suspect something may happen between them...

Love him looking so intense!

... and something almost does.

Emi's boyfriend tells Tae to leave if he knows what is good for him, but Tae's dreams is so close that he can't.

Both Emi and Tae fullfill their dreams as they take part in a contest as dancing partners.

I really like this cap, although we can't see his face.

Love his happy face!!

Total happy grin... hehe
I know, so many pics... but Jang Hyuk is worth every cap in this movie. He's so cute!
The movie reminds me of 'Dance With Me' a Vanessa Williams and Chayanne movie. I'm saying this in case you like movies about dancing and want some more info to know if you'll like it.
If you're a Jang Hyuk fan, like me, the movie it's a must because he looks vulnerable, shy and cute, as he does so well, but also determined to get his dream at the same time. Besides you get to watch him dance and fight and be shirtless sometime...
The actress playing Emi is beautiful and Jason Scott Lee is so changed! I couldn't tell he was the same guy from Dragon or The Jungle Book the first time he appeared on screen.
I must confess that at the end of the movie I was a bit disappointed. It wasn't because the movie is bad, because it isn't. It isn't the best movie ever either but it's correct and Jang Hyuk is fantastic. It has some very sweet moments and you really feel for his character and want him to reach his dream.
The thing is that as the end of the movie came closer I was expecting a big thing coming and it ends fine but I don't know, I was hoping for fireworks, for something more spectacular like in Dance With Me or Dirty Dancing (1 or 2)... don't know if it makes sense.
However as a whole it's a cute little movie worth a try (more if you like Jang Hyuk).
