Moonlight: Coraline + Versailles + navy silk satin
Somebody should really stop me because I'm having too much fun with this.

I thought because I got the impression watching Moonlight that Josef knew a lot about the early days of Coraline as vampire that would be cool to get flash-backs of both of them back at those times... but I don't think that will happen as soon as I'd like, so...

As I say, I'm having too much fun. I like the result even with its flaws, and I suppose it's because I'm enjoying the process. It's like dressing dolls but digital version ;)

Anyway, in case somebody is curious, I took the dress from The Kyoto Costume Institute's Digital Archive. It's a 'Walking Dress' from 1884. The hat is also from the Kyoto Costume Institute colection but taking from a book by Taschen, from the Icons colection, about Fashion from the XVIII to the XX centuries. The background images is from a google search I did seaching for places I could put Coraline. That is the Glass Gallery in Versailles. There is a small inaccuracy and that is that the dress is from the end of XIX century and the hat is from the beginning of that century. I couldn't find anything better *pout*

Here are the pics:

small version of the one I've used

If you take it or want to use it, comment and credit.

I think I haven't said before but I'd be thrilled if any of my manips would inspire ideas for fics or ficlets. If they do, please let me know so I could read them.

Ah, I forgot a version sans hat, because I'm just don't know which I like better. I'd love to find someway to make her hair look more XIX century but I couldn't (for now, since I'm still looking for a way).

You mean to tell me that you MADE THAT????? Oh my goodness, you're amazing! It's gorgeous. I've only fiddled with manipulating, and boy is it hard! This icon I tweaked fron David's Lavoisier and his wife.

As for her hair, what about cropping off her locks, so it looks like she has it pulled back? Maybe you could put a little bun there, too. ;-)

Really, you inspire me. Now I want to try something like this, because I adore the KCI collection. ;-)

The KCI collection is simply amazing! I didn't know they have some of the designs online because I got the book I mention in the entry before even checking their website.

I don't think the manips I make are perfect, except maybe the first one I made of Cedric/Hermione, because I don't know why I really think the result is very good ant totally believable (also, it was the one that took me the longest to make). The thing is that making manips is like a challenge, placing pieces together until the result is totally different. And it's not the same as making icons or headers, but I enjoy the process too much to stop ;)

Thank you for your nice comments! I truly appreciate them!

I could spend hours looking at their collection. :-) For other projects, did you know about this costume database?

It looks like the results are very rewarding! But I'll wager you make it look easier than it really is. ;-) I'll have to try it sometime.

I love the use of the Versailles gallery.
