This weekend we're been busy with two weddings and family reunions so a bit late, here are my brief comments/thoughts about Moonlight 102:
I enjoyed this episode a lot of more than I did with the pilot, but that's something that happens frequently, so not news really. I also liked the interactions between the characters and I understand them a bit better (why they are what they are and why their opinions and visions of things are like they are). For example, why Beth is working for that sensationalist media and not for a serious one, how could she after being kidnapped and saved from said kidnapping by vampires :S
Also, I see Josef/Mick interaction/relationship clearer. It was more for gestures and faces from both of them more than for words, but here I really saw the 'vulnerability' of Mick because he's a younger vampire and as Josef says, he has morals and scruples (and he's so very naïve comparing to Josef) vs. Josef's (bitter if you wish) vision of life after centuries living among mortals and other vampires. It seems to me that Josef doesn't have a lot of friends, period. So in some strange way he values Mick's more than he'd in other situation (for a man who has everything and has a knowledge and a control of the world he lives in pretty great).
I really enjoyed the guess start of the actress from Invasion (that I first saw in an episode of Without A Trace, btw) and I really enjoyed the end, although I'd have finished the episode without Mick saying the word 'vampire', don't know it'd look better to me that way, but that's being picky.
Love hurting Mick, poor thing. That last sequence: Mick getting injured, being saved by Beth, leaving and reaching home close to fall unconscious, was great and his desperation broke my heart.
I saw the episode after we came back from the weddings (yes plural, long story) and I was pretty tired (high heels and baby ginger isn't a good mix) but even pretty tired as I was, and although there were moments that I thought the episode was slow, I really enjoyed it.
Besides, we got Jason Dohring in a black leather jacket, so I really don't have any complain. *evil grin*
Waiting expectantly the upcoming episode. Just one thing: TPTB are evil, because they know we're getting comfortable and attached to the series and one day the'll wake up and say 'let's cancel Moonlight' *cross finger for now* ;)
