back from... holidays: beach, return home, hp last book, hp fifth movie
We decided to take some days off and go to the beach so baby ginger could have fun with the sea and the sand (btw, he adores the sand, I don't know how much he had eaten :S)

We had fun, it was calm, great to read HP7 (both of us and comment later)... although too hot, but well, it's summer isn't it.

It was good to be reading more or less at the same time that other person because I didn't have Internet access and, let's admit it, most of you girls read pretty fast! It was good to exchange ideas with mr. ginger and at the same time remind him who was who because he's awful with names ;)

I'd love to post a large post with my thoughts about the HP book and HP movie but we arrived to find out that he didn't notice we took the power of the fridge and we were welcomed by a couple of things rotting inside (NOT NICE! believe me!) so we've been cleaning after baby ginger went to bed and here I am, after the long trip, posting, because I'm this way ;)

->> Some quick thoughts about the book (without reading my flist, sorry if I repeat things others already think):

At the end I liked the book but around the middle of it I was wondering if JK Rowlings was going to have time to finish and solve everything because the part where the three of them are going from here to there was a bit too long for me (and mr. gingr agrees, btw). We both thought that this book would have needed two parts because we wanted to know details of too many things.

I'm terribly, absolutely sad because Lupin is dead. He was my favorite character, and I've always thought that he was kind of misused in the HP storyline. I'd love to have read more about him. All the 'and by the way, Tonks and I got married' and 'we're going to have a baby' I'd love to read more about his struggle with boths (about the baby we did manage to read what his position was, but not all the 'in between'). And it was so sad to know that his son was going to grow up like Harry, with no parents! As a mother, that broke my heart. It's true that after reading the 'epilogue' we realize that Teddy Lupin and his godfather's family are really close, but well, it's not the same.

I absolutely love the chapter about Snape. I knew, KNEW he was good. mr. ginger and I were discussing him while reading the book and he was sure he was bad, so I was glad of being right, but I was even gladder to being allowed to see what I suspected about him. Poor Severus, so in love during all his life... I'd love to read fics about him and his love for Lily.

I didn't like Fred's death either. It was hard for me to admit that George was going to be without an ear, so when I read the moment when Fred dies, I was WTF! Why don't you kill Percy?? The twins were so great characters that knowing that they won't be together anymore is very sad. Why didn't JKR included anything about them in his 'epilogue'. Hope she says more in that 'future' HP encyclopedia (if she writes it).

I cried in several moments, but I'm easy in this department, so it isn't really a merit. I cried with some deaths: Lupin, Fred, Dobby, Severus' story and when Harry is walking inside the forest with his parents, Sirius and Lupin to find his death against Voldemort. It was so touching.

I adored that JKR included Oliver Wood in the book, although just for a sec ;)

Love the epilogue and love Ron and Hermione's and Harry and Ginny's kids, even the encounter with Draco & wife & son was cool.

After reading the book I got some couples for shipping that I'd love to read about: Oliver/Cho, Neville/Luna and Severus/Lily (their story is so complicated and sad...)

I'd also would love to read more about Teddy Lupin, Remus/Tonks, Bill/Fleur and above all, stories about the 'the next generation': Rose, Hugo, James, Albus, Lily and Scorpius (even Victoire). The can be so cute to read!

In fact I think JKR gave a lot of stuff for the fans to enjoy talking/writing/working with so we don't get so sad after the end.

->> Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

I simply adored the movie. I loved the music, I love the characters, the pace, the end at the Ministry... all!

Absolutely love Sirius, and Neville!!! My appreciation for him grew a lot in this movie!! And not enough Lupin!!! (as usual). The actress playing Luna was great, Helena Bonham-Carter was a good Bellatrix, and Lucius Malfoy was hotter in this movie, imho.

It was so sad when Sirius dies and Lupin is the one hugging Harry! That's how I've always imagine the moment.

Also love that they included a pic of Cedric in the Room of Requirements. Cho and Harry kiss was kind of hot (and very cute).

I hope I manage to watch it again at the theatre, but I don't have so clear I'll manage, though.

I'd love to work in icons and some manipulations if I find the time...
