Mansfield Park and Persuasion 2007 versions
I know I keep saying this but it's the truth! I really would love to post daily -and I'm pretty sure I find things to say, believe me- but I just don't have the time and I really try to find it but nothing!

So this is a quick post to show my absolute love for the new versions of Mansfield Park and Persuasion. I love them so much!!! *squee*

If Jane Eyre was my top one costume drama in 2006, I find it hard to choose between them! If I had to I'd probably choose Persuasion, but just because of Rupert Penry-Jones as Capt. Wentworth is love! But, and there's a but, he doesn't have enough screen time, and I know that probably is normal since in the novel the presence of this character is more or less the same, but well, for me it wasn't enough.

Rupert looks too good in costume and I'd love to see him in costume dramas more frequently. The dark blue jacket or vest, can't remember, and white shirt made him look really handsome (hot, really).

The actress playing Anne was quite good in my opinion too, and I enjoyed them as a romantic couple very much.

I was a bit disappointed with Anthony Head's character, Anne's father. He was good, but as I love him as Giles, Oliver Sampson in VR 5, and that spy in his guest star in Spooks, it was just too different to see him in a costume drama, although he played his character right.

About Mansfield Park I love the whole cast. I think they made a great job with the casting. I watched the previous version with Frances O'Connor and Johnny Lee Miller and I trying to recall the characters, I think they really chose well.

I love Billie Piper as Fanny. She is very good for this character for who playful she looks and with that beautiful smile and all. I loved her as Rose in Doctor Who (probably because of her chemistry with both Doctors) but I must confess that this production and her Much Ado About Nothing from Shakespeare Retold are my favorites for now.

I especially like when I get surprised and I discover a new actor/actress to ad to my collection... and here I found Blake Ritson, who plays Edmund Bertram. I think he has great chemistry with Billie's Fanny and the way he shows his vulnerability toward Mary Crawford really got me.

I enjoy the end very very much! I love him running following Fanny with his cravat untied... and his dance with Fanny at the end... hmmm, I was melting at that point.

I was thinking to make this post with a pic spam but I didn't have it ready, so here it is, just a brief recollection of thoughts put together with almost no order :S

Anyway, hopefully I'll be able to capture the rest of the images I want one of these days ;)

I truly recommend both of them, for those of you who are unsure of watching any of them!

Just letting you know that used torrents so you don't need to upload those episodes. :)

--I have those films on my list to see so can't comment yet--

Oh, yes. I don't care if the whole end was added; I loved it. And I loved Billie Piper as Fanny. She gave her enough warmth and backbone to make the character much more engaging than she was in the novel.

I've loved Blake Ritson since he was on Red Cap. My sister and I refer to him as 'grown-up-Harry-Potter'.

Have you seen the new Northanger Abbey yet? It's really good too.

LOL! Out of the three, I liked Northanger Abbey best. But then I am a Henry Tilney crazy person. :)
Mansfield Park was nice to watch, but it didn't leave any lasting impressions. I did not see any other version before or read the book, so I was completely virginal concerning this.
And Persuasion *sighs*: I thought the cast fabulous, and RPJ droolworthy, but was just so disappointed what they did to the letter scene. :/
Will most definitely rewatch, though.

I did enjoy the last two, though I never saw Mansfield Park.

A pic spam would be wonderful. :)
