I wonder why it took me this long actually ;) I mean, my love for UK tv is obvious but I hadn't managed to get totally interested in any series in particular. Those that I remember are just some episodes here and there of Miss Marple or Poirot... or similar. The only series I religiously follow of that kind is Foyle's War, which I adore to bits!!
Anyway, the real fault (apart from the fact that I like this kind of dramas) is of a couple of British actors ;) (you didn't see that coming ;)?)
I started watching Silent Witness because in its last series Emilia Fox became a regular in the cast as doctor Nikki Alexander. I have always liked her since I saw her in Pride and Prejudice and in Randall and Hopkirk (deceased). (Btw, what I didn't know was that she was married to Richard Harris' son). Anyway, watching the last episodes of Silent Witness -so far I've seen Cargo 1 and 2 and Terminus 1 and 2- I think the series is pretty interesting although as in CSI they tend to be a bit graphic with the autopsies... but the three member of the team are pretty interesting... especially Dr. Harry Cunningham, played by one of my discoveries: Tom Ward It was great to see the contrast between his more carefree part, more in control of the situation, in Cargo, and how down and depressed he looks in Terminus. Poor thing.

Harry smiling, how cute!

Harry worried... look at his brow.... poor thing
The other series is The Inspector Lynley Mysteries, of which I actually have some others episodes waiting to be watch (especially In Divine Proportion, with divine Richard Armitage *squee*) Anyway, it's sad I say this, but I hadn't realized how kind of hot Nathaniel Parker (Inspector Lynley) is!! He reminds me a bit of Ciaran Hinds, but of course younger, around how he looked in Persuasion or so ;) Besides, I love his interaction with Sharon Small, who plays Detective Sergeant Havers.
Anyway, I watched 'Chinese Walls' episode 3 of the last series because
imbeiaiel mentioned that Samuel West was in it, and I can't help but watching Mr. West in all that falls in my hands ;) Actually, I think that he looked mighty fine ;)

Lynley amused at something ;)

Raised brow... *sigh*

The interesting thing, apart from the fact that I probably will keep watching both series is that now I finally should watch Bleak House because Nathaniel is there and will have to get my hands in Warriors, where Tom Ward starred with Matthew MacFadyen and Damian Lewis (OMG!) and Love in a Cold Climate, because now I have another reason to watch it apart from curiousity ;)
The most funny thing is that both starred together in a mini series version of Vanity Fair! Tom Ward played George Osborne (part Jonathan Rhys Meyers played in the most recent version) and Nathaniel Parker played Rawdon Crawley (part played by James Purefoy in the 2004 version)... So now, I really should watch this version!!!

Something off topic (or almost) I really wanted to mention! Somebody at
obasc post this link to a BBC press release about a new production of Bram Stoker's Dracula, starring Marc Warren (Band of Brothers, Hustle) as Dracula. Sophia Myles, one of the other two people in the cast I recognize by name will play Lucy, and, the coolest thing is that David Suchet will play Van Helsing! I think it fits him!
Sounds really interesting, and because I love Coppola's version, I really want to see what they do with this! Filming stars this month. It's curious to see how Marc Warren improved in my list ;) First thing I saw him in was in Band of Brothers where his character was so pitiful that I couldn't imagine him later as Danny Blue in Hustle.
