*laugh* how is it this hopped into your head as well? I was thinking about it during a scene of 'High School Musical'. This movie is a guilty pleasure for me. I discovered it after everyone else did and for me it's one of those: 'Oh so bad it's good' movies. I love the music and the dancing but not Patrick Swayze. The icons are beautiful though!

Oh wow! Dirty Dancing is my guilty little secret. I love that movie so much, but I never tell anyone because people always look at me funny then. :o)

Anyway, I'm taking a few of these. I'm not sure which ones yet. Will credit if/when I use them.

Omigod! When I was younger, this was my friends' favourite movie. Especially one girl, who was completely head-over-heels in love with Patrick Swayze. We had to watch the movie every single time we were at her house, which happened quite a lot during a NY winter and her grandmother watched us and a few other girls because all our moms had jobs, which was rare then and in the area.

I babble. Nonetheless, I hated the movie so much! But then I watched it a few years ago, without Tara (the girl obsessed with Johnny/Patrick Swayze) and I realised I didn't hate the movie at all-- I hated Tara! Hee. I actually quite like the movie now because my parents used to drag me to the Catskills (where the movie takes place) and I would want to just kill myself, too. Only I never met a cute goy (non-Jewish boy) to have fun with. And my dad always calls me Baby. ;)

I love your icon!

Yes, well, the Catskills today are totally run down. Most of hotels shut down. They were in their heyday during the 1940's-1960's, so it looks nicer in the movie because it takes place in the 60's. Now they're grotty little dumps that haven't been redecorated since 1960 with mould and telephone outlets so old you can't even plug your computer into a modem, much less get a wireless connection! My grandparents were of the generation a little bit older than Baby's parents and my parents were Baby's generation, so they have fond memories of the hotels. Escaping the city heat and crowd for the country and all that. Actually, all the times I've gone have been in the winter, which is even worse, because you're stuck inside the entire time.

Okay, I'll shut up now. :) Jerry Orbach rocks, so gotta love the movie for him. And 'Nobody puts Baby in the corner!' Yeah!
