Yesterday I was looking for some papers I needed and suddenly I found a copy on paper of one of my favorite Profiler fics. Profiler was my first big fandom.



I started reading so many fics and some of them pretty good. In fact there was a great archive with all the categories/shippings the series had. In Profiler the main ones called SBR and SJR. The first one was for those who liked to read about Sam Waters (Ally Walker), the VCTF (FBI) Profiler being romantically involved with Bailey (Robert Davi), her boss. The second was about Sam being involved with John Grant (Julian McMahon), another member of the FBI team. I was a 'follower' of this last one. Profiler was the very first thing I saw Julian McMahon in and since then, I love him ;) although I haven't seen all his Nip/Tuck episodes yet :S

Anyway, there were great fics out there but that big archive has disappeared completely :S It was a pity since I had always thought that it would remain there because 'all' the fics were there... too bad, really, although I have most of the fics I like in some backup cd, I think...

However, the one I found on paper yesterday, was one that wasn't included in the archive. In fact it wasn't even in the other compilations of Profiler fics... It was only readable in the author's website with all her fics, and the sad thing is that I don't know the author's name and her webpage isn't there anymore (it was a geocities one) :S It's sad, I think I gave her feedback the first time I found it but I would like to, maybe, contact her...

So, I re-read the fic and recalled old times (not only I had great time reading Profiler fics, or watching the episodes, I also found one of my dearest friends thanks to this fandom!, and I even wrote some fics, although when I did, the series was gone, I think... ;) (btw, it was on air from 1996 to 2000).

I also made a quick search and there aren't a lot of sites left, practically any!!! And the mailing lists are long gone.

I felt kind of nostalgic/sad as I looked for sites... There is this silly part of me that things that we will always be able to access sites about things whenever we want to check them... I know the reality is not that, but I think we fool ourselves sometimes...

In the case of Profiler, I really liked the series and I think I'll watch it again during the summer since I have the dvds (all but season 4, where Ally Walker wasn't anymore... or maybe I'll give it a try). I have to admit that I haven't watched season 4 although I have it :S

Anyway, in case you wonder, the second fandom I had was The Magnificent Seven... and I know that the main archive about it, is still alive as well as the mailing lists ;) although I don't read fics anymore.

I think I should make icons from both fandoms in case I get nostalgic again ;)
