First of all:

Next week! Anthony Stewart Head in Doctor Who!!! I am amused!! *total squee*
I've really enjoyed this second episode. In fact, I love it! In my opinion it was better than the first one. Maybe it's because of the historial setting and the characters and the werewolves thing but I like this episode very much!
It was quite funny to watch because I couldn't help giggling a bit because there was some cross references (for me) to other tv shows. First of all, the actor playing sir Robert (Derek Riddell), starred with Billie Piper in 'Shakespeare retold: Much ado about nothing'. He was Don, the bad guy, and it was nice to see that here he looked better (and way more handsome). I smiled like a fool when Billie and he were together in screen. I was like: 'Are you going to ask her out or something?' (sorry, I know it doesn't make sense if you haven't seen MAAN :S
At the same time, Captain Reynolds was played by Jamie Sives, who was Peter Craig in 'Rockface'. It was impossible I didn't recognize him!! And he was all heroic and all in the episode, as he was in some Rockface rescues...
Anyway, back to the episode, as I've said, I had fun watching it... Love David's Scottish accent, love when he says Rose, 'don't do that', and the rest, but I wasn't totally comfortable with the actress who plays Queen Victoria. I suppose it was something they wanted to achieve, the uneasiness of the viewer toward her, especially at the end.
That takes me to the end, kind of brave, that talk between the Doctor and Rose about the posibility the Royal Family are werewolves. It reminded me of a very entertaining book written by Kim Newman, titled 'Anno Dracula', a fiction novel that speculate with the possibility that Van Helsing didn't kill Dracula and he is back in England and marries widowed Queen Victoria (won't say anymore because I don't want to spoil anybody). The book had a sequel that I knew about, 'The Bloody Red Baron' and after checking some website, I have just learnt it also has a third, that now I have to read, titled 'Judgment of tears'.
Anyway, that is the kind of stuff I enjoy to read sometimes, the 'what if' stories (I guess that's why I like AU fics and shippings like Cedric-Hermione ;) )
I can't wait to next week episode, mainly because the Doctor looks quite cute as a teacher ;) and Anthony Stewart Head is simply delicious! Besides, I also want to see how Rose deals with her 'new job' at the school kitchen :S
btw 1, if somebody is interested in the books I mention, you can check this website about the author.
btw 2, one of the monk-warriors at the beginning, the one with more screen time sounded familiar to me but I don't know from where. Anybody else noticed him?
