Yesterday I finally managed to go to my post office and pick up all I had waiting for me there, included some old magazines I won on Ebay.



Theatre Arts (from December 1957) included the complete play of The Sleeping Prince, which is the play The Prince and the Showgirl is based in. Apart from the text, there are some great pics of some productions of this play )

Plays and Players (from August 1957) reports how the Oliviers starring in Titus Andronicus is going in tour for Europe, including some pics as well )

but the most amazing thing is that Vivien Leigh is featured as 'Personality of the Month' for her defence of St. James' Theatre that was going to be demolished. She even brought the situation to the House of Lords. Thinking that some of you may like to read it (especially you, [livejournal.com profile] themurcurytree), here is the scanned piece )
