Spooks series 4 thoughts and icons

I've spent the weekend watching all Spooks series 4. I had started watching it but I had only watched episodes 1 and 2 and this time apart from rewatching those, I watched the whole thing. Simply amazing. Now I don't know which series I like the most, probably this one... I love Adam Carter. What can I say? Rupert is simply amazing and now after the final episode I'm so waiting for series 5! I need to know what happens! It's awful to be left this way. I think it's even worse that The West Wing's season 1 finale!!! So you get an idea of how I am right now!



I gave it a little thought and I think that episodes 1, 2, 7 and 10 are my favorites. There is one with Jimmy Mistry that really should be among my favorites because I love him since I saw him in The Guru, but that episode wasn't very interesting really... too bad.

Episodes 1 and 2 are great because it's a strong start for series 4. Danny's funeral broke my heart and Ruth trying to find a moment of proper grieving was very touching. Harry knows how to handle her the best but even as much as she cares for Harry there are times where Ruth's face shows she would love to slap him for good. At that moment at the church, she realizes works calls but the pain in her eyes, poor Ruth! It seems like she is the only one with a heart sometimes (I know it not true because Adam and Fiona also have one each of them and later on we see how they suffer...). The moment where all pagers go off reminds me of a movie, but I can't point out which one... hmmm...

I was really impressed by the scene where Zaf and Adam walk around the bomb scene with their black suits and ties... it was amazing.

I love Martine McCutcheon guest starring in those first two episodes. The connection Adam and Tash have is fantastic.

It's curious how sometimes Adam manages to make me forget he is married... his charm is obvious and women notices. I think it happens with Tash as well as with Jo in the episode he recruits her.

Episode 7 is very good because we finally see more about Fiona and Adams pasts and we learn how much Fiona loves Adam. I find the episode very touching but I can't help to find it a bit too obvious because as the plot starts developing it was quite clear that Adam was going to suffer big deal at the end. Poor poor thing! I wanted to hug him so hard! The flashbacks about how Adam and Fiona met and how they almost kill him, I really like them!! They were very interesting touches!

Episode 10 is just fantastic! Especially the end... it goes all very very fast and you don't have time to think, one thing leads to another and you just can see it happen in front of you until the final scene that is OH NO!!!!

Love, love, love!!! The relationship between Adam and Ruth. I really can't explain it but since they met and Ruth made that mistake calling him Tom, they are so cute together. No, I am not considering an Adam/Ruth romantic relationship but I think they connect in some strange spy way that I really like and I really enjoy! In this episode is just amazing because Adam knows something is wrong just looking at Ruth's face and... I really love all the interaction: how he sits at her desk's edge and listen to her at the same time he's trying to read her... How much I love that!!! I think I practically squee with them sometimes! I find Adam especially handsome at the end of the episodes *snif* I think I'm going to cry, my poor, poor boy!!! I just hope Harry, Adam and Ruth are back for series 5 because they're my favorite characters and I'm not sure I'll keep watching if they are not there...

Btw, I haven't mentioned one of the most lovely moments that is from episode 9 and is when Adam takes Wes with Harry to the dogs races... and the boy calls him uncle Harry!!! It was so cute!! And Harry (and father and son) seemed to have a good time!!

I love Spooks - it's one of the few shows that I can watch a whole series in one go. I do miss Tom I have to admit but Adam is a worthy replacement. The cliffhangers are always awful though - I'm always "nooooo!" :) Love the icons and I'm glad that there's plentiful amounts of Harry - he's the best.
