Songs
I shouldn't be posting this after the result of my first post of songs (by the way, you still can listen to them, they aren't that weird and I am sure you will like at least one. Go here if you want to give them a try)
I was at [livejournal.com profile] koalathebear's LJ and she uploaded a lovely Sephardi song here, really beautiful piece. Go listen to it if you can, and it reminds me of this Nitin Sawhney song with parts in hindi, portuguese and calo language (the one spoke by gipsies) and thought I should share it. The music and the percussions are fantastic and I love the voice of the woman and the man singing flamenco-like.

Just a side note: dear [livejournal.com profile] koalathebear apart from a friend you are also a tag in my LJ, hope you don't mind ;)

You can get it here: http://s40.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=1YTRBP5QD16VM2XRG8Y5CX0AVH
(for a week or so I think)

Here are the lyrics that I got searching for the lyrics since they aren't in the cd.

Homelands

Indians Part :
Vocal percussion
Calo language (gipsies language) Part :
Ya no malmite nadi
Second Indian part :
Sa da pa ma pa da
Ga ma pa ma pa da
Ga pa ma sa ni ni
( indian musical notes )
Portuguese Part :
Tudo o que quiser
(Everything you want)
Tem que entender
(You got to understand)
Nas palmas da m
ão
(In the palms of the hand)
Se tiver porquê
(If there is a reason)
Frágil nessa terra
(Fragile in this land)
Frácil derrubou
(Easy it fell)
Quando jogou fora
(When you through it away)
Tudo acabou
(Everything ended)

I'm honoured to be a tag!! :)

I also like Homelands - I have it on a Buddha Bar compilation - Nitin Sawhney has a lot of stuff I like a lot.

Glad you are honoured... ;) As I find really interesting things in your LJ and I refer to them I thought it's better for me so later on I can find things ;)

Nitin Sawhney is great. I have most of his albums. Broken Skin (where Homelands and the other song from him I posted are from) is my favorite.
