Sakumoto short fic (again)

Title: Sho's Turn
Rating: PG (for an 'A' word)
Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] cypros for taking a quick look at this.
I know my limitations with the language but well, I have so much fun writing them... so I apologize.

This was one of those days when he really wished he wasn't the one usually cooking. As he parked his car he imagined reaching his apartment to be greeted by a simple but delicious meal.

While in the elevator on his way up, he started, out of habit, to think what he should make for dinner. He really wanted to spend as little time as possible in the kitchen tonight. He was dead tired. The photoshoot had lasted longer than he thought it would take and the interview left him dried of actual thoughts.

When he finally reached his apartment door he leaned against it, rested his forehead on it and closed his eyes for a moment. Definitely it was one of those days when he would love to end the day being cuddled up in the arms of his boyfriend.

He hoped Sho was feeling up to the task.

When Jun entered the apartment it was strangely quiet. He walked to the kitchen and found Sho seated at the far end of the kitchen table, his laptop in front of him, arms crossed at his chest and an extremely serious semblance.

'I'm sorry I'm so late,' Jun apologized.

'It's okay. I figured it was taking you longer than it should.'

'If you are not mad for me being late... what's the matter?' Jun started getting worried.

Usually Sho was quite affectionate when he reached home. He usually waited for him awake and was a quite sweet boyfriend, taking care of the chores he knew he wouldn't fail at...

Jun took his eyes from Sho for a second to take a quick glance at the take-out containers he guessed Sho had brought for dinner.

Sho clearing his throat made Jun turn his attention back to the older man.

'I thought you'd be late and I imagined you would be too tired for cooking anything so I stopped by and bought us dinner,' Sho explained, his eyes met Jun's for a sec before focusing on the laptop screen again.

'I see. Thank you, that's very thoughtful of you,' Jun added walking towards Sho, to properly thank him.

'Stop!' Sho commanded before he could reach him, emphasizing his words with an stretched arm so Jun couldn't get closer.

'Sho, what's the matter? You're scaring me!' Jun complained, really concerned with Sho's mysterious behaviour.

'We need to talk,' Sho announced, standing up to face Jun properly.

Jun felt like the room was starting to spin. There was nothing awry that he knew in their relationship. In fact, it was going pretty smoothly considering who they were and what their jobs asked of them. He couldn't believe that just tonight, of all nights, he was going to have one of those 'relationship' talks with Sho.

'Listen,' he started, 'I'm sorry for whatever I did/said/ that got you thinking we should have a talk..., please.'

Jun realized he sounded a bit desperate but tonight he couldn't possibly have a breakup or a breakdown and if Sho's words kept going in the path he feared, he was afraid one of them was going to be innevitable.

'I'm afraid something is wrong here,' Sho started, his eyes focused on the floor.

Jun pursed his lips. Something inside him lit up giving him strength to face the situation.

'If you're going to say something like that, the least you can do is face me,' he said, his voice raising an inch.

Sho sighed deeply and turned his laptop around so Jun could see the screen.

'I wonder why you and Inoue Mao are the cutest celeb couple in this poll. But what really gets on my nerves is that number 2 is Jin and Kamenashi! We should be there at the top of that list instead of them!'

Jun sent confused looks from the laptop screen to his idiotic boyfriend who had an incredibly silly grin plastered on his face.

He walked the distance that kept them apart and slapped Sho on the shoulder, hard (for his standards).

'You're such an asshole! I thought you were being serious! You scared me, Sakurai!' he complained.

Sho was already shaking hard laughing in that infectious way of his.

'I'm sorry, Matsujun,' he had to stop talking for a second to keep laughing. 'I was reading online news while I was waiting for you and really don't know how I arrived to that poll. You must admit that Inoue and you look so perfectly cute in that pic,' Sho explained animatedly as he walked to reach their dinner at the other side of the kitchen.

Jun took a seat at the table to take a closer look at the laptop's screen. In some twisted and ridiculous way he felt the need to check that stupid poll.

Sho opened one of the packages and started eating... because Jun was completely ignoring him, his attention fully on the screen.

'I shouldn't have mentioned it!' Sho whinning voice finally reached Jun.

'That happens when you try to play a joke on your boyfriend,' Jun offered. 'This is so wrong!' he exclaimed, failing to notice how Sho rolled his eyes.

'What?'

'Why aren't we in that poll instead of 'Akame'?!'

'That's beyond my understanding too,' Sho admitted. 'Wait! 'Akame'? What's that?'

'That's how fans call that couple...' Jun explained finally joining Sho and starting digging in the containers as Sho was doing.

'I see...' Jun could feel Sho's mental cogs moving.

They remained in silence for a bit as they ate.

After a while, Sho finally talked. 'So, if they are 'Akame' what are we?'

Jun shrugged, 'I don't know,' he said with a playful smile on his face.

'You do know!' Sho complained.

'I don't know what you're talking about.'

'You're are the one who check the net for fannish stuff. You do know!'

'I won't tell you,'

'I can google it anytime I want,'

'Okay,'

'I'll do it,'

'Whatever,'

'Is it something hideous like 'Akame'?'

'Hmmm,'

'Don't tell me, I don't want to know,' Sho closed his laptop, put it under his arm and walked out of the kitchen.

'Do you realize that you were the one who laid out the perfect trap...?' Jun let out casually as he stepped in the living room where Sho was standing waiting for him, the laptop already discarded.

'Okay, yes! I was supposed to be the one to get a good laugh...'

'Oh, you got it! You also almost gave me a heart-attack, so it is only fair that now the one in a grumpy mood is you,' Jun announced triumphally.

'Now I know why I don't read those polls...' Sho looked so annoyed that Jun started feeling bad for it. 'And what it's more important,' he kept saying. 'I know why you should be very very far from them,' he concluded.

'I was keeping myself way far from them,' Jun admitted. 'It's your fault that I read that one,'

'Now I can't think in anything else apart from imagining you with Inoue Mao and Akame together! Good think I kind of like Kitagawa and Yamapi...'

Jun walked passed Sho in his way to their bedroom. 'Let's go to bed, I'll make you forget about them,'

Sho followed suit.

---

4 a.m.

'Sho?'

'Sho?'

'Switch the light off and come back to bed!'

'Sakumoto?! Bambi?! Niji?!'

Notes: As usual this came out of nowhere. Well, to be honest I've started another fic which plot makes me quite excited about working on it because I'm having so much fun! but it's complicated.
I don't dislike Kat-tun, in fact I like them (another thing is Jin but this is not the time or place). I said I wouldn't write any other fic poll/survey related, but well, I lied/fail... whatever you like to think. This is the poll in question
So this one could be considered the third installment in the series of one-shots formed by Fashionista and the Ultimate survey.
