You're right, seasons 1 and 2 are different from 3 and 4... but I think that was the right thing to do. If Adam was too similar to Tom, the change would have failed and the series would have lost viewers. They needed a different character, also interesting but in another way. I love Adam because he isn't Tom, because what I loved in Tom it was Tom's only. Adam is another person with another problems and with other methods to solve things and that is also what I love about him. Don't know if all this makes sense LOL!
